The number in the tens place is color coded to match the full ten frames and ten rods.
Likewise, the color of the number in the ones place matches the partially filled ten frames and one cubes.

My Interactive Number Line helps students see numbers in a different way! They can visually see all the ways that number can be made with various math tools (including their hands, ten frames, dice, and more!). Directions are included for making the number line interactive, but this number line is also great for a number ring that could be shared with students. if you use create the number line the way I did, make sure to hang it down low so your students can access it as needed!
