I use and extend on this powerpoint as a warm-up to writing with my grade one class. It has 18 slides and lasts approximatley 7 minutes. It covers sentences and their parts including the happening (verb), who or what is involved (noun), and adjectives. As the slides flash up I call on students to give me other examples of the focus. For example when the nouns slide pops up I ask the students to tell me why each thing is a noun e.g. Snow White (Character), table (thing), Nick (person). Enjoy :)

Encourage students to keep daily journals where they can freely express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. This practice helps them develop their writing style and build the habit of writing regularly.
