Increase fluency by working on big bubble breath boxes.
Editable document allows you to put in sight words, number words, color words, letters, numbers, or even sentences in to the breath boxes.
Students are instructed to take a deep breath and get ready to blow a bubble while they read all of the words/phrases in one box. Eventually as fluency rate increases, student can read two to three boxes in one breath.

Apple Tree ABC Activities
Apple Tree ABC Activities teaches and reinforces letter naming and identification, alphabet letter sequence and letter formation.
Apple Tree ABC activities can be used as whole group literacy instruction, small group work or independent activity.

I do a mini-lesson with my students to review fiction vs. nonfiction. Students then record their knowledge on the fiction vs. Nonfiction sheet. At each table I have a mixture of fiction and nonfiction books. Students go back to their tables look through the books and write the titles on in the fiction or nonfiction box on the sort those books side.
