When I create a unit, I create these cheat sheets by copying them double-sided on colored paper. Then I laminate them and keep them at the desks (1 for every 2 students), so they can refer to it during notes and activities. I also use them for bell work review questions, closure questions, partner review, etc. One side contains important diagrams and objectives, and the other side has the vocabulary for the unit.

It is used as a "quick jot" so that they just need to note the page number, placement on page, and reason for marking. When completing discussions and later follow-up work, students can then quickly find the information previously marked without having to flip through the entire novel. My students love it!
