This EIGHT PROJECT BUNDLE (!!!!!) will keep your Algebra 1, Geometry, or Algebra 2 students busy for the last 1 - 3 weeks of school doing either independent or group projects, with or without access to technology. Projects include rubrics and grading criteria for the most part, although I sometimes just grade this with a daily participation grade rather than for correctness. Project topics include: - Area and Perimeter -- Design Your Own Playground! - Linear Modeling -- Human Height and Bone Le

This IEP goal bank was created to assist special education teachers with the task of writing standards-based IEP goals in math. After spending countless hours developing IEP goals myself and really having to think through how to best individualize goals and objectives for my own students, I wanted to share this resource to help other special education teachers gain back some of their time. This goal bank includes the following:An introduction and guide that explains how to use the document. Each s

Super Fun and Awesome Proof Practice - Basic Geometry - Proofs

I created these study guide to help my students with introductory proofs. There never seems to be enough practice with proofs in the textbooks. It was designed to repeat some of the same theorems and postulates over and over again but in different problems. A complete answer key is included. *Note: Certain problems could be done multiple ways. My answers generally include the shortest complete method. The proofs include the following basic concepts: Definitions -Complementary, Supplmentary

This is a triangle congruence matching activity that I've used in my class as a two person matching activity. I've used this at the end of class to see if students knew how to solve these problems and as a warm up lesson to start off the day. There are 10 matching sets of cards: 2 for SSS, 2 for SAS, 2 for ASA, 2 for AAS, and 2 for Hypotenuse Leg (HL). I hope your students enjoy this. I have a website that has videos to explain all of these triangle congruence statements. Go to www.doucehou

Once I've covered basic probability and statistical measures, I like to have students work with conditional probability, which can often go hand-in-hand with tree diagrams. I created this worksheet for my Geometry students, and I find that it is challenging for them, but it can be broken down into "baby steps" and they learn to navigate their way around a tree diagram to calculate conditional probabilities. I use this activity within cooperative groups, and I circulate to make sure they are ge

This is a final exam review packet for the fall semester of Geometry. It includes two very elementary constructions as well. I post this file for my students to help them study; I don't grade it for credit or even extra credit, as when I do so, I find the students only attempt the ones they already know how to do! I like to call this activity Putt-Putt-Geometry. It is 9 glorious holes of trigonometry application! This works great as a Trig unit project, end of year project, or test review (maybe 1 or 2 holes for review). The students can work in groups, pairs, or individuals. If your students are not proficient with Trig, or you have not covered it yet, each hole can be done using the Pythagorean Theorem instead - simply tweak the directions a bit. I hope your students enjoy this as much as mine do!

When presenting this mini project, you can discuss how precision and congruence are a huge part of origami and that students should be on the look out for the content discussed with regard to congruence in the course such as SAS, SSS, etc, reflexive property, angle and segment bisectors and more. After folding, students will present their ornament and discus

Geometry students often like to "play" with their compass and straightedge when they first use them: this activity is exactly what I use to get some mileage out of this urge to play: by just repeatedly drawing full circles (as opposed to arcs), students can generate midpoints, perpendicular lines, parallel lines, regular triangles, regular hexagons, and sixty and thirty degree angles.
