I developed this Letter and Calendar to motive students to practice their math facts at home each night! It works in much the same way that Reading Logs work for Language Arts. Students must track their nightly minutes practing math facts and parents must sign. This helps hold students and parents accountable for practice at home. I use this back-to-back reflection with my middle school math class. At our school, we take monthly cumulative assessments. Students receive a % grade for the whole test, but what does that really mean for their learning?

Pythagorean theorem
Students use the formula for the Pythagorean Theorem to solve for the missing sides of triangles. They will also solve real world word problems using the formula. They'll also use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the distance between two points on a coordinate system.
