If you don't have one, this is also for you. What's even better is the paper is on my iPad! You can upload it to your device and track as well. But you can use a clipboard if that does not suffice. Whatever you need, you can find it here. I also have a daily formative assessment tracker that you can u

This is a tool that I use frequently to keep formative data on my students and the standards that have been taught. This template can be altered electronically or you can print and complete it as you progress throughout the year. Student names should be added at the top and I Can statements derived from the standards should be added in the second column. As you use formative assessment to analyze student achievement use the tracker to record the results. This can be done in many ways. You can pl

Keeping track of completed and missing assignments while students are working virtually, in a hybrid model, or even face to face can be a lot. I have created a google sheet to make your life sooo much easier. You will have a class page with your student's names and weekly assignments listed. As they complete their assignments, all you have to do is click the box to check it off. It will generate that information to an individual student report sheet that you can easily print. At the end, or begi

Custom Grade Book

I created this custom Grade Book form when I grew frustrated with the commercially produced Grade Books on the market. Writing and rewriting student names on every page became such a CHORE, and the names didn't always fit perfectly. Also, the boxes for the assignment and the grades were always so teeny tiny that my bubbly handwriting never fit. Now I open up this template, save it with my class name, type in my students' names, and photocopy as many copies as I need, front to back. I never have

We don't have always 10 or 20 questions in our assignments. What if you have 17 or 29 questions. It sometimes gives us hard time to do that calculation for each student. With this tool, all you have to do is typing the number of questions in your test into this tool and it will give each point for each number of correct questions. Also you can put the passing grade into that, and it will tell you the failing grades in red, passing grades in green.

Importance of learning English language arts

English language arts (ELA) concepts — reading, writing, listening, and speaking — empower students to become effective communicators, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners. They are the foundation for all other types of learning as students must rely on ELA skills to master content from other subject areas and communicate what they’ve learned.

Strong reading skills can help students make sense of written content, and gather information for further analysis. Writing skills can help students articulate their ideas, construct arguments, and synthesize information. And speaking and listening skills empower students to clearly present their ideas, participate in group discussions, and collaborate with their classmates. This is why teaching English language arts is critically important for student’s success in school and beyond.
