I have twelve years of practical teaching experience in various capacities and grade levels. In my classroom, no child is left behind. I emphasize skill-based learning with a focus on character, presentation, problem-solving, teamwork, and academia. I am keen and observant when writing anecdotal notes to ensure that students are safe, loved, and engaged. My classroom environment promotes interconnectedness, competence, independence, empowerment, and joy. I utilized my skill-and-academic-based binder to collect data to scaffold or challenge my students to reach their full social, emotional, and academic potential. This instrument became compulsory for all Advanced Education educators and endorsed by AdvancED. I was recognized for innovative teaching, effective rapport-building, and for being a ‘star teacher.’ I was highly rated by parents and students alike. As a team player, I have joined and participated in committees and school improvement projects to help build a better environment for students and staff alike.
Creating stimulating and engaging environments, incorporating diverse mediums and platforms for self-expression, and helping children learn to thrive in new social settings are just a few of the areas in which I excel. I am a strong believer that young children learn best through play, so I consistently strive to include musical, sensorial, kinesthetic, and collaborative experiences to broach more academic-focused concepts with a healthy dose of free-play.
