I didn't like the mess I was receiving when my students turned in their literature circle work, so I created simple worksheets for each of the jobs (summarizer, connector, passage master, illustrator, Vocab., & Discussion Leader). The pages are made to be printed on both sides of the paper (front and back) (or 1 to 2 sided for you copy queens and kings). For even more organization/variety, print each job on different colored paper.

Students will be given the task of connecting their learning to four objects that typically have nothing or very little to do with the lesson you are teaching. The great thing about this strategy is that the teacher does not have to have any of the answers – the students will create those on their own. Students will look at the four topics and then write their item on t

Stock Market Simulation

This is a GREAT activity for Economics teachers or anyone that wants to get students more excited about investing. My kids love it, and many of them go on to create their own real-life portfolios and ask me for advice on their stocks after class. The best part of this project for the teacher is that you are engaging them in a higher-level-thinking activity, you are getting them to willingly do math during class time, and you teach them an important skill. To kick off the activity, I recommen
