The Ballad of Jack Jouett - A Virginia and American History Song
This is a song I wrote when I was teaching about Jack Jouett's famous ride. He is the Paul Revere of the south and the story was so interesting I was compelled to make it a song. I love the image of a man relaxing for the evening, but then upon hearing of plans of capturing Thomas Jefferson, mounts his horse and rides like the wind to go warn him.
