How To Write A Speech

My students are required to write a 4-H speech. This was my first time teaching a group how to write a speech. I created this flipchart to explain components of a speech along with a rubric. The grading rubric is embedded into the flipchart. In the notes section on the final slide, the directions explain how to open the grading rubric. The grading rubric is open to change. You can change it to fit your requirements or needs for your students. Thank you very much!

After five to ten minutes, I invite the students to stand and share if they wish. Students who do are rewarded using our classroo

I use this flipchart with B.J. Novak's "The Book With No Pictures". We read the text and then I transition into the flipchart with the question, "Are you ready for a book with no pictures?" Great resource for 2nd or 3rd graders who are chapter book hesitant or even over-confident in their abilities and are picking chapter books much too hard for them.

This is a very simple, six slide Flipchart that I use to introduce each of the sections in our library. I use this to prep students to use the computer catalog. The sections in my library are Everybody (usually Easy in other libraries), Chapter Books (FIC), Dewey (Nonfiction), and Biography. I also call our nonfiction section "Dewey" to cut down on confusion since
