Elementary Musical Scope and Sequence
This is a K - 6 musical scope and sequence for the general music education classroom. It is one we worked on for over a year for our school district. (Updated 10-8-18) I am the only elementary music teacher in my district. This is a good starting point for any teacher who does not have a scope and sequence to follow. Painless Plans for the Elementary Music Substitute
These are UPDATED plans I leave for my substitute! I never know if I am going to have a "music person" in my room so these plans are do-able for ANY substitute teacher.

Thanksgiving Syllable Sort
Kindergarten and first grade students will strengthen their phonemic awareness and syllabication skills as they celebrate Thanksgiving. Students color and cut out pictures of Thanksgiving item (such as a turkey and a pilgrim) and glue them into the correct column on the graph based on how many syllables the word has. Great for use in a literacy center.
