Benchmark Literacy Genre Posters, Bookmarks, and Quizzes
Each of the ten units in the Benchmark Literacy curriculum includes a genre study. This resources includes a poster and bookmarks (both with reference book cover pictures) and a short quiz for each of the ten units.
I made this to help my students learn about the different genres. I feel that the bookmarks will help them focus on the key ideas of each genre. Then at the end of the week, my students will take the short quiz that matches the bookmark slips. Answer keys are included.

Shelebrate Poetry
April is National Poetry Month! I remember growing up with Shel Silverstein's poems and created this resource for my students to do a study on him. We used three of his anthologies--Falling Up, Where the Sidewalk Ends, and A Light in the Attic--as sources to choose poems. Then we completed this poster.
The file is an 8 1/2" x 11" document, but I copied it onto 11 1/2" x 17" paper. The poem could be typed or written. My own example is included.
