Music Instrument Picture Labels

These are labels I created to place on the outside of my cabinet doors to help students find and put away the instruments on their own. The pictures are real photographs of the instruments that I have in my inventory. Feel free to swap out images of the exact brand/type to match your instrument inventory. These labels include: log drum, talking drum, shekere, rainsticks, cane rattles, seed rattles, goat hoof rattles, gankogui, bongos, floor toms, lollipop drums, hand drums, Native American dru

Music National Standards Notes

These notes have all 9 of the National Standards for Music Education written on them. These notes are good for displaying in the Music classroom to make teachers and students aware of how the lesson at hand correlates to the National Standards for Music Education. I like to name an activity that we'll do in class and ask students which standard they are working on for that activity. It has brought meaning to our lessons.

Here is my Music Classroom Rules that I print out and put in my room. I also open this Word Doc on my smart board and go over these rules as well. I found that all these rules are very helpful for the entire year. You can edit this form and change the name on top. You can also add or delete some rules. I have found that these are all the rules I need for the year in my music classroom.

I use this an an everyday exit slip for my art classes. It is a perfect way to always assess students especially when there is no time to make a paper exit slip. I printed it out on colored paper, laminated it, and posted it right by my door. On the way our of my room in line the students will lightly slap which section applies to them best. I will check of where they are at and it helps me know if I need to re-teach or move on.

A perfect musical reminder to incorporate common core standards into your classroom. Post this "I Can" poster on your board or around your room as a reminder to you and the kids what you can do. We often work together to make I can statements as a class from this prompt.

Capitals and Punctuation Songs

I created these two songs to the tune of "Frere Jacques" to help my first graders remember when to use capital letters and punctuation. They really enjoyed learning and singing the songs, while I really enjoyed watching their writing improve! Included are two lyric/visual pages for the songs and an intro/cover page. Font credit goes to KG Fonts. I hope you and your students enjoy this FREEBIE! :)
