I have typed up the lyrics to 3 of the history songs (No More Kings, Shot Heard Round the World and the Preamble) but have removed certain words. My students watch the video once and then fill in the lyrics as we listen a second (and sometimes third) time to the song. Civics Parody Project with Rubric
This is one of the most entertaining activities for students to engage in. Students will prove their knowledge of Civics by using their key terms to create a parody. This parody activity is for students to create a song, rap, or poem using the assigned key terms. It must be completely original. Students can work in groups or individually. This assignment can be broken up over a few weeks, or dedicate a few days for students to focus on creating. One day for performances is needed.
