Converting Math Song
This is a song about how to convert fractions to decimals to percentages and back to the tune of "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi. My students and I sing this multiple times throughout the year to convert. I also use it as a call and response when students get stuck and don't know what to do. I rewrote the words to "Havana" by Camila Cabello and renamed it "Denominator Ooh-Na-Na" to be about finding common denominators and comparing fractions. My students LOVED it, learned how to rap (kind of), and I was able to reuse phrases from this song while teaching to remind them how to find common denominators when comparing, adding, or subtracting fractions.
