I have created two analysis writing prompts that I offer as Extra Credit to my students based on the Superbowl. One is in regards to a commercial of their choice and the other is based on the half-time show.

This is a fun way to have students practice annotating, analyzing, and building their understanding of a text, ultimately culminating in a thesis statement.Students will use Taylor Swift's song "Anti-Hero" to analyze for literary elements. The worksheet asks them to brainstorm thematic topics and turn them into a theme statement.
