Italian Music Tournament - La Maratona di Musica Italiana
This is a fun way to incorporate culture to the start, end or middle of any Italian class! Students can see artists and hear music to which they may otherwise never been exposed. Use the printable bracket to let students make predictions for the “Campione” , vote as a class or however you like! These videos and lyrics have been previewed, but as opinions vary, please personally verify before sharing with students.

This activity can be used for Spanish classes of all levels when learning the use of the preterit/past tense. It not only employs the use of the grammar tense, but exposes students to cultural distinctions with children who live in the streets of Latin America (and worldwide). This can be done collaboratively or individually. Prezi can be purchased separately to add on to this lesson plan for a 90 minute class activity.
