Students will learn how proper nutrition, exercise and rest are important to good health by setting up a classroom restaurant. The sixteen sessions in this unit contain lessons on different types of advertising, food safety rules, how to take your heart rate, analyzing food lables, understanding cooking terms, analyzing menus for nutritious offerings. Children will perform an original nutrition rap (included), write limericks, listen to speakers, learn proper table manners, serve and be served.
