Formatting a Bibliography
Raise your hand if you walk students through formatting a bibliography and they go home and forget everything you taught! Once this happened a few times for me, I made this video, posted it to Google Classroom, and had students refer to it each time they had a question. This video walks students through the process of formatting bibliographies on Google Drive, not Microsoft Word. This is also a fantastic source for remote learning!

This project aims to address many components of social and academic growth in middle school students. This unit was originally written for 5th graders, but could be easily adapted for 6th, 7th or 8th graders. Students work collaborative to research a peacemakers, independently write and informative piece and as a class create a video showing the qualities of a peacemaker and how those qualities can be applied to them.

This learning module, suitable for middle and high-school audiences, runs approximately 24 minutes. It explores online primary source archives and how they were used in researching Rysa Walker's young adult novel, Timebound, which was recently selected by readers as the Grand Prize Winner in the 2013 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award competition.
