End Of Year Mathematician Project - Algebra 2/Calculus/PreCalculus
This is a great project for the end of the year! Students are required to research a famous mathematician (they can choose one not listed as well) and create a research paper using the guidelines within the project. There is also an option to have your kids do a presentation (which I love!) with the guidelines provided as well. Rubrics are given for both the paper and presentation! Enjoy!

Performance Task - Pascal/Sierpinski Triangles
A great resource for International Baccalaureate mathematics! Although it can be used for non-IB classes, as well. I have used it for a midterm, but it can be used for an end-of-unit assessment, as well. This research project/performance task is designed to explore Pascal's triangle, its history, relationship with Sierpinski's triangle, and how it is used in the field of mathematics. Brief History of Trigonometry
Trigonometry has a rich history, and this assignment explores it! It can serve as an introduction to the topic that gives some meaning to the word sine before students use it mathematically. I've found that explaining what trigonometry is all about before jumping into the problems helps students overcome the uncertainty and newness of it all.
