Easy Animal Report to go with Common Core (CCSS) nonfiction writing
This is an easy to use format for kids to write their own animal report. This begins with a pre-write or word web, then asks kids to answer basic questions about the animal. Next kids can illustrate their animal and write an overall summary about the animal on easy to use paper. Finally, kids start to learn about a bibliography by writing the name of the book they got the information from and the author of that book. Penguin Report
This is a quick and easy one page penguin report for beginning writers. I use this with my kindergarten students to conclude a mini-unit about penguins. Students will write one to two word responses to tell what penguins eat, what they do, where they live, and what they don't do (fly). Then they will draw a picture to go along with each small part of the report. Aligned with Common Core writing standard, writing to convey information.
