Super 3 Research Skills
This lesson introduces the Super 3 Research Skills to students in grades k-2. The Super 3 Research Skills are a condensed version of The Big 6--which is used for older students. The steps are 1. Plan 2. Do 3 Review. This lesson introduces the steps and then as a whole group, goes through each step using whatever topic the class chooses.

This Smartboard lesson was created by an elementary library media specialist, who was previously a second grade teacher. The lesson was created with students in grades K-4 in mind. Students will be introduced to the encyclopedia as a reference tool. They will learn what an encyclopedia is and what it is used for.

Farm Journal
This is a two week long farm research journal. There is a "can-have-are" page for each animal on the farm including the Farmer. On the last day, students will choose their favorite animal to write about.
The journal comes in both Black and White or Full Color depending on your needs. You can also display the pages on a whiteboard in order to help your students who need visual aids.
