Parent Functions Discovery Performance Task
Learning about parent functions can be boring and possibly disengage students. This resource gives students the opportunity to discover parent functions individually (or in groups), with links provided, but research is suggested. There is a checklist for students to follow that serves as a rubric for grading as well, which helps them create a wonderful product and/or presentation.

Discovering The Definition of a Function (and notes!)
This is a discovery activity to introduce the definition of a function through a vending machine. As a class or in small groups, students will add snacks into a vending machine.
