My Parent Function Family Tree
This is an exploration of the parent functions and their transformations that can be stapled into a nice booklet. The parent functions it focuses on are: quadratics, identity, cubics, absolute value, greatest integer, reciprocals, and square roots. There is a page on each of the functions where students are guided through the graph of the original function using a table. Then students discover what happens when the equation is changed.
