Andrew Clements Author Study Cafe Menu Projects
Through our 5th grade curriculum, we read Frindle by Andrew Clements. He is such a famous author that my students love, I decided to extend the lesson into a unit/author study. My students choose from a wide variety of his chapter books and have literature circle discussions throughout their reading. At the end of the book, they choose from my cafe menu to complete projects.
You can adapt the menu choices (appetizer, entree, and dessert) for the level abilities of your reading groups.
