This a cute craft for students during the holiday season! I have differentiated and done this two different ways. One is for letter recognition, for students still having difficulty recognizing the letters in their name (or how to spell their name). The second is sounding out and creating C-V-C words!
Attached is a template to create the snowman, as well as a list of common C-V-C words! Just print onto construction paper and students can practice cutting as well:)

I use this to help students through reading the original Dicken's version of A Christmas Carol. I do a Jigsaw Reading Activity (see this activity) where each group reads a Stave and then reports back to their Home Group. The guided question, asks students to find evidence to support Scrooge's Transformation within the story.
