This activity gives students a glimpse into four of Shakespeare’s plays: The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet; The Tragedy of Julius Caesar; The Merchant of Venice; and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. After previewing each of the four plays by reading and responding to an excerpt, students will select one play to study in a literature circle.
