This is an activity I do with my students when we begin our unit on Earthquakes. It lasts a week and depending on the time available, I will either do this as a bell ringer or assign for homework. Students use the United States Geological Survey website to track and monitor earthquakes as they happen on a daily basis. The activity should take no longer than 10 minutes a day. This activity is in the form of an editable Excel worksheet.
