This is a fun end-of-the-year activity to do with all elementary age kids. Just print out this PDF file (it works well in color or black and white), pass out pencils or crayons, and go outside to complete this activity. Students have ten questions. Each question asks them to find something outside that sounds similar to the pictured instrument. They can draw what they find or write about it. There are four tricky "bonus" questions. They are allowed to make the sounds themselves or discover them.

As soon as I introduced this material to my classroom and my piano students, they loved it! Everyone kept asking for more! I am pretty sure that you will have the same response :) There are various level choices that you can choose. Students do love to challenge difficult ones, but it isn't easy for them to complete. It takes over two hours if students want to do finish all pages. The most difficult one itself took about good 45 minutes for my 8th grader students.
