Fun PUZZLEs: Types of Triangles
This CUBE AND STACK PUZZLE asks student teams of three to identify scalene, equilateral, and isosceles triangles using sides. Each student gets a different cube template (1 of 3). Each student in the team cuts out and constructs their cube. They then work together to stack their 3 cubes so that facing sides describe the same triangle. The students will: identify right, acute, and obtuse triangles using angles.
1. Student teams build 3D cubes.
2. Student teams stack cubes by triangle characteristics.
3. Students complete worksheet to reinforce lesson concepts, and as “their ticket out the door.”
