Unit Circle Speed Relay Game - Trigonometry - Special Angles - with answer key

Created by

This is a game I use over several weeks in my trigonometry classes, to help students better recall the three trigonometric functions of all special angles on a unit circle in both degrees and radians.First, you’ll need to print off one half-sheet per student. Ask the students to stand in a circle (or at least a close enough approximation of a circle so that everybody can see everybody else at any given time). The teacher should also be part of the circle so that you, too, can see all of them a

Trig and Special Right Triangles Breakout / Escape Room

This is an activity that allows students to review trigonometry and special right triangles in an engaging and fun way! This activity utilizes diagrams, multiple choice, word problems, and the your classroom space to get students collaborating, moving, and reviewing the material! The current resource has well over 45 minutes of material. Station 1 = SOH CAH TOA multiple choice (20 questions)Station 2= Special Right Triangles Solving (20 questions)Station 3= Word Problems involving Trig (4 questi

Using Cards for Trig Ratios

Use a deck (or several - the local dollar store has the 2/$1) of standard playing cards. I only use A - 9 to ensure both all angles stay acute. I have used this activity as a chance for extra credit after the students get done with their work, or as a group activity during review...really for anything. The only thing I require the kids turn in other than the filled-out charts is a piece of notebook paper with their drawings and work. First two pages are students' handout, page 3 is answ

Trigonometry Unit Project: Make a Board Game!

This project is great for the end of a trigonometry unit, and encourages students to use their creativity to design a board game or card game that covers a wide variety of trigonometry topics. This document can be easily edited to include the specific lessons you have covered in your trig unit. The project takes 2-3 class days, and could take more if students actually trade and play one another's games.

Trig Trio Match Up Game

Students play a matching game where they have to find three cards that make a trig equation from the first quadrant. One card is the trig function (sine, cosine, tangent), another is the angle (30, 45, 60 or radian equivalents), and the last is the trig value. For example, a trio would look like Sin 30 = 1/2. Once three cards are taken from the board, they are replaced and play continues. Students must also write down their trig equation. This is a really fun way to get kids to memorize t

Students will be given a stack of puzzle pieces. Each piece will contain answers and problems. Students will solve the problem on the puzzle piece and find the answer to the problem on another piece. The answer and problem should line up to make the puzzle. We suggest doing this in groups of 2 or 3.

First choose which partner will be “x” and which will be “o”. Take turns picking a problem listed below and solve. The answer to the problem you select should be listed below. Find the answer and mark with an “x” or an “o”. First partner to get three in a row, wins.Covers: Finding focus, directrix, and axis of symmetry. Also requires students to write an equation when given the focus, directrix, and axis of symmetry.

Play the common card game "spoons" but with the unit circle! The goal is to teach students how to use the unit circle to find trigonometric values and/or to help support students in memorizing the unit circle. The game can be differentiated to fit the needs of the learners in your class. Students love playing this game!

The Mathsmith The document contains a link to an EDITABLE Prezi I've used to play a Jeopardy Review game for Algebra 2 on the topic of Trigonometry. The document also contains the questions and answers for each clue. This works well with 2-3 teams (I usually do Girls vs Boys). There are 5 Categories -Angles -The Unit Circle -Sinusoidal Graphs -Transformations -Mixed problems (mystery/final category)

Each station has an answer to another station. There is a correct order in which the stations should be followed. Place the stations on regular paper around the room in any order you see fit. Have the students solve each question on paper and have them record the order they go in. If they go in the correct order, they are working the problems correctly! Unfortunately I did not leave a guided answer key for solving the problems. However, I did leave an answer key for the order in which the stu
