This is a simple, fun, SmartBoard game you can play with your students to teach them about probability. The game fits in with the current Ohio Academic Content Standards for 3rd grade. Students take turns coming up to the board and rolling a large die with various pictures on the sides. At their seats, students tally the number of times certain pictures appear. After 20-30 rolls, students can use the data they collected to make a prediction about how many sides of the die have a certain picture.

I have modified this game from Everyday Mathematics, so it can be used on the Smart board and as a whole group game. This is a fun game that follows the rules of baseball that your students can play to help them memorize their multiplication facts 1-6. Your students will be split into two equal teams, one "pitching", and one up to "bat". Each inning goes until there are 3 outs, and then the teams will proceed to switch places. The students will sort through all the puzzle pieces and decide which ones will not fit in the puzzle, because they do not match the other pieces (all pieces will equal the same amount). Once they have all the correct pieces, they put the puzzle together. Laminate the pieces and students can do the puzzle over and over. Included in the file is the puzzle template so you can make your own!
