George Washington is on the hunt for his cherry tree! He cannot tell a lie, but there are no cherries on his tree. Students must help by sorting the cherries onto the tree correctly. If they are proper nouns, cut and paste them on the tree. If they are common nouns, cut and paste on the ground. Once all cherries are placed correctly, students have a recording sheet to practice writing complete sentences with the cherry proper and common nouns.

This is just something I created for use at our school to make sure we are allowing our students more time for exposure to the Georgia Social Studies Standards. It seems like it always got the short end of the stick, and we wanted to give them something not only differentiated, but interesting. I enjoyed using it for my gifted class and the EIP teacher enjoyed it with her students as well.
