I began as a Special Education Paraprofessional. While I leaned about IEPs, I finished my post-back teaching program and became a certified Secondary Social Studies teacher. I have taught at title I schools for over 7 years. During this time, I quickly became a new teacher mentor, campus trainer, history and grade level department heads, and my favorite... "the favorite" (nominated by my kiddos)
I have always believed that to gain a kiddos trust it is best to give them the respect you wish he get from them.
Panther Pride Teacher of the Year
Early Childhood Education K-12 at Texas Tech University 2009-2012 Bachelors of Arts at West Texas A&M Secondary Social Studies 6-9 Certification
I have worked in almost all areas of education. It started when I was a little girl grading papers with my mom in her classroom but then later turned into a major in college. I worked in the Center for Development Research Childcare with infants and toddlers. I later worked as an after school and summer camp lead counselor. While finishing up college I substituted for 4 ISDs in the Amarillo and Lubbock area. Soon after graduation and before the certification, I became a Special Education paraprofessional for 2 years. I taught for 5 years in 2 different Title I schools in Amarillo and San Antonio. When I left the classroom I became a Content Writer for an education company writing for standardiezed history questions for the state of Georgia. Soon after that contract was over I went back to the classroom at a small charter school as their entire Special Educationl Department where I self taught myself everything from A-Z in the SPED world. I now want to help teachers get the special help I got when I was in a bind!
