This smartboard lesson is a (Thanksgiving Jeopardy-like) lesson that I made up for the smartboard. The categories are fact - opinion, synonyms, antonyms, cause and effect, and homophones. SMARTboard interactive lesson on author's point of view and fact vs. opinion
This SMARTboard lesson covers a few reading comprehension skills: identifying author's point of view, fact vs. opinion, and evaluating an author's argument. Some slides can be used as notes for the students. Other slides are more interactive. Students have to determine if statements are facts or opinions. There is a mini reading comprehension exercise at the end where students evaluate the author's argument. This is perfect for ELA assessment preparation. It keeps the students engaged!

Easter Story Elements
This Easter activity helps teacher instruct students about the different story elements: characters, plot, and setting. The beginning part of the lesson includes definitions of each element. Then, the students are able to select a picture from the board of eggs, chicks, and bunnies and answer a question about a provided story. Each question relates to either character, plot, or setting and has an accompanying story to go with it.

This is a SMARTBoard notebook file. It teaches how to identify sentence fragments and run-on sentences, as well as how to revise them in writing. Two pages are independent assignments using the class textbook. You can either delete those two pages or edit them by putting in your own independent assignment. Determining Theme in 3 Easy Steps
Theme can be a difficult concept for students. This slideshow explains three simple steps to help students determine the theme of a story.
