TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Secondary Mathematics Teacher, Certified ESE/Autism Spectrum Endorsed, and Experienced STEM Project Coordinator, I have worked in education for more than 10 total years. Beginning as an Art Teacher in Atlanta, I operated a 501(c)3 that was funded by the City of Atlanta, Fulton County, and private contracts. As a muralist, I have painted several churches in Florida and Atlanta. As a Library Associate, I have served both a Children's Library and the Instructional Learning Center in Fulton County's Library System. As a Volunteer Coordinator for Hands On Atlanta for 4 years, I Coordinated Projects annually with more than 200 Volunteers. As a parent, I have one daughter at SCAD University in Savannah, Georgia.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Project-Based, Student-Centered, and focused on training students to use metacognition to make learning gains through deeper mathematic thinking in a world where everything is instant, and surface level.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor of Science in Anthropology from Georgia State University. Masters in STEM Education (currently) at the University of South Florida. I attended Florida State University from 1993-1995.

I absolutely Loooooove my students. I dedicate this endeavor to them, and I am humbled by the hard work and courage they show daily when faced with systemic barriers to learning yet continue to strive for higher ground.
