The WRITE Prescription

Twelve years teaching all subjects in Mission and Pharr San Juan Alamo 13 years consulting to help students and teachers with writing, math, classroom management and how to motivate students in the classroom and more importantly in life.

It is crucial that teachers think of themselves as doctors, writing prescriptions for their students in the form of lesson plans. Some kids only need band-aids, while other need surgery! It is important that we learn how to adapt our teaching to connect in very real ways for visual/auditory learners, with lots of oral, hands-on activities to help children who don't learn in traditional ways. My posters and materials all focus on getting across to kids of all learning styles.

Graduated from Grace Christian School in Pharr, Texas in 1981 Graduated from University of Texas Pan American University with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Minor in Math in 1993.

I have spent the last 11 years sharing my materials, writing, math, classroom management/student motivation ideas in schools around Texas and Oklahoma. I am currently working on a book, How to Turn Their Horns into Halos! Motivating and Engaging Students in the Modern Day Classroom. This book is in great need in classrooms, because I feel that teachers haven't adapted their teaching to keep the attention of kids who can focus on video games for days at a time!
