Fifty Nifty Tips & Ideas to Share with Students BEFORE the Reading/Writing STAAR Test

Dear Texas Teacher,

There are many things in this list that students can do in some grade levels and abilities but not in others. I suggest that you go over all of these yourself first and highlight the portions that are the most important to you at your grade. Skip over portions that do not apply to you specifically. Once you are ready to go over them with your students, you might tell them something like this, “Students, these are answers to many questions that you will have for me on test day that I won’t be able to answer for you.”
