My nickname is actually "Kit" so as a K-8 instructional science coach for my district - I have been the "Science Kit " since 2013. Prior to that, I had the privilege of being a 3rd-grade teacher for 10 years. I center that experience in all of the coaching I do- working hard to help teachers grow and work smarter - because no one works harder!
I am a student centered teacher and coach who embraces the shifts called for in the NGSS as they allow for all students to learn science. I am grounded in formative assessment and equity practices.

I have a BS in Animal Science from the University of Nevada, Reno and a MA in Elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport.
I am an enthusiastic hiker and a proud mom of two amazing girls. While I live on the East Coast, my heart is always in the West, I love those big skies! I love connecting with other creative educators who believe science is for all students and all students can make meaning of phenomena.
