Description
If you are looking for a recorder-playing activity that reinforces music reading skills AND strengthens your students' ear training skills, then this activity is for you! But fair warning... some assembly is required. See the preview video for the end result... it's worth it!
This resource includes 50 song puzzles (in various levels) for students to play, but in order to play the songs, they will need to use their super sleuth music skills to put the song strips in the correct order. Maybe they're using clues they've previously learned in music class or maybe they need to use their recorders to play the notes to see if their ears agree with their eyes.
This is a great activity to use during music centers or small groups, where levels are differentiated and students can work at their own pace. It's also good for peer-to-peer interaction, where students can work together.
While this is geared toward soprano recorder, it can also be used with xylophones or other pitched percussion instruments.
