Well, Hello, thank you for stopping to find out more about me! I have taught several different grade levels including 2nd, 4th, and 6th. I have also been a reading and math interventionist grades K-6 before enjoying my career as an instructional coach. I possess my masters as a reading specialist and am currently pursuing both my principal and curriculum director licenses. My experience in the classroom has helped me become a successful coach in three buildings. I currently coach teachers toward a deeper understanding of pedagogy in order to implement successful practices that both identify them as highly qualified teachers and allow them to showcases the high-level of learning occurring in their students. I coach on the understanding and use of standards, data, and outcomes. My experiences are varied and so are my offerings on TpT. Much of what I will sell have come from a necessity to help my own staff and, therefore, cover a wide range of topics. They will all contain some coaching elements and most often they are applicable at any grade level as they are meant to elevate teaching in EVERY classroom. I hope you will find something you can use!
My teaching style, simply put, is to remember the uniqueness of each child. Manuals aside, I need to understand the instructional goal, my students, and the content so thoroughly that I can use any method necessary to reach every student. Learning should be enjoyable, challenging, and satisfying. I believe every learner deserves the satisfaction of accomplishment and should they struggle, it is my job to help build their self-efficacy so they ultimately feel that ever-motivating satisfaction. It is my responsibility to instill that belief, strength, and worth that they are able to accomplish anything they set their mind on. My job is not simply to teach, but to be sure they continue to learn.
I have received the Golden Apple Award from our local news station for a service learning project I started with my students. I have written and been awarded several grants. I have also been recognized by my peers as an educational leader in the coaching world with particular request for collaboration over writing curriculum, assessments, Response to Intervention system set-up, and a data management system I designed to track students' rate of growth triangulating multiple assessments. I have also been asked to collaborate with other districts and university professors and have enjoyed doing both.
I, first, went to technical school and worked as a medical laboratory technician. -Hence my love for science and data may shine through in my work. I then worked several different management positions while attending college for my undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. After teaching for a few years, I returned to gain my masters as a Reading Specialist from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire. Within a short time after completing my masters, I completed the Wisconsin RtI System's Coaching Course and haven't looked back! I love my job of helping teachers and students and now I hope to help you! I take a special interest in brain development, culturally relevant practices, and the differentiated learning styles of students with ADHD, dyslexia, and autism.
As a mother of 4, I have learned much from my children and the uniqueness each has brought to my life. I believe this insight and love for watching my own children gain their self efficacy is what has brought me to the place I am today. I hope for every child to have a teacher who believes in them and yearns to help them learn.
