TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught 7th and 8th grade science and math in the Compton Unified School District (in the Los Angeles area) for 11 years. I began my teaching career as a Teach for America teacher. For 13 years, I created educational toys and games for elementary school age children. including a line of science toys named after me called Nancy B's Science Club. I write science books for educational publishing companies.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have a conversational style with my students. I love to tell them science stories to keep them interested and to help students to remember concepts. I'm the teacher who stands near the science video, doing my own narration as it goes along. I enjoy using funny resources and doing exciting demonstrations.
