I have been a Texas educator since 2007. For the past two years, I have been working outside of the classroom as a science curriculum specialist and educational consultant, creating high impact materials and developing engaging strategies to lead teachers and their students to success.
I specialize in academic and behavioral intervention programs. My training has provided a skill set that is suited to support learning in low-income schools and targeted for reaching at risk students. I deeply believe that all students, despite their socio-economic background, can achieve high academic standards and that good teachers are the ones that can make that happen. I have a strong record of leading students to achievement in the classroom; each year, my students were able to more than double school passing percentages on standardized tests from previous years. After working with the KIPP network of charter schools, I know that maintaining a culture of excellence and setting high expectations are necessary ingredients in the recipe for student achievement. I strive to create engaging materials that set clear expectations, introduce a high level of rigor, and shepherd students and teachers toward their goals.
