Description

A full A-Z set of alphabet cards using terms associated with ecosystems and ecology! Each alphabet card has a picture representing an example of the term that can be colored by students. This makes a lovely bulletin board and is a great way to introduce high-level science terminology to students.

The vocabulary and coloring cards are appropriate for a wide variety of grade levels. In the packet you will also receive suggested activities differentiated for a range of age groups and an accompanying worksheet is provided for older students.

Posting these cards in your classroom will help reinforce learning by connecting the terms with a non-linguistic representation (picture).

The performance of students (especially ESL and ELL students) suffers on the science portion of national and state standardized tests due to limited knowledge of scientific terminology. It is a fact that the science portion of most standardized tests is written at a Lexile level appropriate for 2-3 grade levels above the tested grade. Insufficient knowledge of commonly used scientific terms will sink the scores of thousands of students. Don’t let your kids falls through the vocabulary gap!
