My husband is a professor of Mechanical Engineering. One spring he decided that he thought it would be valuable for his university to offer a summer camp for 5th-12th graders to introduce them to Engineering, and more specifically to 3D Printing. I was an experienced teacher (having taught high school and college-level German for 15+ years), but I knew nothing about 3D printing. I agreed to help him that summer, and the rest was history. I studied, learned and practiced everything 3D printing. Together we loved designing the camp, and at the end of the week, the students and parents were pleading for more. We started offering 3D printing classes on Friday nights and begin creating new camps for the following summers.
I love to challenge my students to solve problems and to become increasingly more independent.
