By Speech and Language by the Book For 5 years I worked in special education. While I collaborated and provided specialized instruction across grades and subjects my passion was in reading and literacy. My career focus changed when my 6-month-old was diagnosed w/ bilateral hearing loss. I went back to school and got a 2nd BS and MS in Communicative Disorders & Sciences. Now I strive to integrate language & literacy to develop well-rounded knowledgeable kids who love reading!
My goal is to enable children to become well-rounded lifetime learners who LOVE reading and learning. I focus my instruction and therapy around living books creating lessons that incorporate a variety of skills, higher order thinking, and develop and strengthen background knowledge.
