I taught a 4th grade class with ESL students from 7 countries (Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Thailand, Malaysia, Honduras, India) and other general education students. I also taught a 4th and 5th grade newcomer refugee class where I taught 4th and 5th grade Texas standards with large amounts of scaffolding and differentiation to students who had lived in the U.S. for a few weeks-a few years.
Differentiated instruction is my passion. I love implementing ESL teaching strategies in every lesson, and I work to scaffold late elementary standards with early elementary building blocks.
