I'm headed into my 8th year of teaching special education. I've been in every grade level within K-12. Talk about a whirlwind! My most recent position is a self-contained classroom for students with mild-moderate disabilities that serves students in grades K-5. It's been the most challenging, yet rewarding of all my positions. This position inspired me to create quality content that helps other teachers in my position.
Everything in your space should have an educational purpose. I'm all about using your space wisely and not creating a busy space or busywork. I strive for things to have purpose in my room and for my students. I'm constantly reflecting (what is the skill I am targeting, is this the most effective way to target it, etc.). I want my students to be successful and provide hands-on projects and differentiated instruction to target my student's needs.
