TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 9th year teaching! I have taught English Language Arts my whole career in various grade levels in the middle grades (6th-8th). I also have experience teaching social studies and have my math and science certification and would love to teach those subjects someday as well if ever given the opportunity.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is to set high expectations for students but to provide strong scaffolding to help students rise to the expectations. I believe that pushing students past what they ever thought they were able to accomplish allows students to gain confidence and realize they are capable of anything!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have served on many committees throughout my career-- such as BLT, PBIS, RTI just to name a few! I have also received "Teacher of the Month" and am always looking for new opportunities to grow professionally.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned my Bachelors Degree in Middle Childhood Education at Bowling Green State University in 4th-9th grade. I have earned my 4th-6th grade Science endorsement and am currently working on my 4th-6th grade Social Studies endorsement. I received my Masters degree in School Administration from Capital University and recently earned my Masters+ 30.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I currently live in Ohio with my husband, son, and golden retriever. I love to read and write as well as bake for birthday parties and other occasions. I love to keep myself busy with hobbies but love my job and being a teacher!
